Vadim Chaimovich

Vadim Chaimovich was born in 1978 in Vilnius (Lithuania), and began studying piano at the age of five, giving his USSR debut performance with a chamber orchestra just two years later. In 1991 he celebrated his first international success winning the first prize at the “Virtuosi per Musica di Pianoforte” Competition in Usti nad Labem (Czech Republic). There followed more prizes and awards at music competitions in Lithuania, Russia and Poland.

Vadim Chaimovich received diplomas with honours from several conservatoires of music. His teachers were such distinguished musicians as Lev Natochenny in Frankfurt, Eugen Indjic in Paris and Peter Rosel in Dresden.

Chaimovich received prizes at several international music competitions, including the Schubert Competition in Dortmund (Germany), the Schlern Music Competition (Italy) and the William Kapell International Piano Competition in Maryland (USA). Most recently, he was the winner of the 2009 10th International WCH Competition in the USA. He was awarded scholarships and awards by many European foundations. In 2003 Vadim Chaimovich was distinguished with the promotion prize of the Dresden Art and Culture Foundation for his outstanding artistic achievements.

The young pianist has given numerous concerts in Switzerland, Poland, Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the USA, among others with the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, the Sinfonietta Dresden, the Carl Maria von Weber Philharmonic Orchestra and the Orchestra Filarmonica di Bacau.
